One of the publishers of Minnesota Women's Press Magazine, Norma Olson called on Friday morning to chat. I found out that Norma and I were born in the same year and are celebrating a true golden birthday of sorts this year. We have yet to meet in person, but am impressed by her caring and giving nature.

Okay, how cool is this? I was at a Central Minnesota Training and Development meeting today and learned about this cool site. I then found out about prezi.com and will be making a very cool Colorfulgirl presention soon. WAY cooler than powerpoint.. really interactive. Can't wait to find some time to play with it.

Yes, the fabulous music stand turned wine and cheese table raised $300 at auction for the St. Cloud Symphony! Many thanks go out to the new owners. A wonderful donation and a very cool table to bring home. Be in touch if you could, I'd love to post a photo of the table in your home on my website.

I came home the other day and did some close up shots of the antler with the icicles dripping so beautifully. But this pic really is cool with all the old antlers in the snow. Dan's dad used to make buttons for his mom's knitting projects from these antlers. He was quite the hunter and adventurer. After he passed away we were able to take his sawed up antlers and put them on the barn fence. We love to look at them each day. I hope you enjoy them, too.

Well, here it is! That boring black metal music stand has been transformed into a functionl work of art! LOVE it. Dan formed the metal leg struts and welded them on. A coat of burgany red paint, some fabulous stained glass for the top and the wine bottle holders finish it off. For the fundraiser tomorrow night I added a pair of wine glasses and some really cool plexi grapes for some sparkle. I hope it raises a little money for the symphony at Pioneer Place! Check out my porfolio to see some in progress photos.

I have been wanting to mosaic this piece for years. I finally got my butt in gear and did so. AND it turned out so well. I used lots of stained glass with iridized finished so the light reflects beautifully.

Cold, clear and a FANTASTIC full, blue moon out the window sparkling off the snow. Okay, I didn't have a pic of tonight's moon, but this one will have to do! ha ha! Nice fire in the woodstove, getting excited about spending time with friends bringing in the New Year. 2010... HOW did that happen? Amazing, just blessed to have one more day on the planet, aren't we? Here's to the best year yet!

The days will be getting longer my friends, can't wait! The sunsets have been amazing lately, but I'd like to see them at 9:30 pm instead of 4:30 pm. :) This painting is my Winter Solstice image. It makes me think of the beautiful winters deep slumber awakening into spring.

Tis' the season to be jolly!! Our annual Christmas cocktail party was named the "Awreatha" Party this year. Many forms of headgear and wreaths adorned everyone who walked into the barn. SO much fun and such great photo ops! What a creative group of people! It's the time of the year to gather with those friends you love, have a few cocktails, great food, fun conversation and lots of laughter! Thanks to everyone who shared the evening with Dan and I celebrating the season!
